The magazine that thinks everything is erotic.

The erotics of a dance rehearsal take centre stage in the Autumn/Winter Issue of Erotic Review, with a brand new collaborative artwork by choreographer Holly Blakey and photographer Oliver Chanarin.

LONDON — For immediate release Erotic Review publishes its sixth issue since relaunching in print in 2024, on newsstands from 19 October 2026.

For Issue 6, choreographer and director Holly Blakey, guest art curator, captures the intimacy of creation when dancers meet at rehearsal. The result is The Rehearsal: Notes on a Fictional Performance, a 48-page book within the magazine, made in collaboration with award-winning photographer Oliver Chanarin. Inspired by 1940s choreography and Brecht's Modelbooks, Blakey and Chanarin channel the eroticism of the dancing body to explore presence, possibility, failure and pleasure. The work also brings together artists Eve Stainton and Lewis Walker and rehearsal director Sharia Johnson. Director Fiona Jane Burgess has created a visual narrative to this encounter, shaping her candid footage into a six-minute film premiering on Nowness (23 October) called The Rehearsal.

"This is an ode to artistic collaboration and possibility," Lucy Roeber writes in her editor's letter, "to all the people who made it happen and to all that can be created when given the space."

"I see searching for pleasure as my political act," says Blakey, "a political practice of joy."

“The human condition is a fictional dance rehearsal, we are all a fantasy of ourselves. The more we explore desire, the closer we get to finding our truths.” Frith Kerr

For the first time, Erotic Review are selling an original Oliver Chanarin 8 x 10 print (Motif 2) from the magazine, in an edition of 25. As well as an original Holly Blakey designed, limited-edition ‘Liar’ t-shirt from Motif 6 from The Rehearsal. Both on sale from 16 October.
