This Halloween, Four Chambers’ releases their new spellbinding film Some Reddish Work ~ a fever dream of sex and hysteria, the film draws on mythos of the witch trials, and the ways in which women's desire has always been pathologised, punished and feared.
Haunted by references of: The Crucible, Robert Egger’s VVitch, through to Silvia Federici’s Caliban and the Witch, the film moves through the viscera of history: where the devil’s mark meets the body’s own rebellion.
Set in the 1600s, a fertile ground for exploring that feeling: the height of fear around witches, the devil, and women’s unseen malign energies. Scenes include an orgy of bodies writhing by fire, stolen sex acts in the barn, unsure of where one starts and begins, haunting and unease.
“Being a woman often feels like straining at the seams that hold your sanity together, something howling inside you that you can’t name or even look at directly. A restless ache, an intensity of feeling.
A knowledge that something inside of you must be wrong and you have to do everything in your power to prevent it leaking out. Desire, growing inside you and waiting to burst out and unstick the foundations of your being.”

Filmed on Ashlack Estate in Cumbria, Some Reddish Work, is a homage to camp British B-movie horrors of the 1970s, to House of Psychotic Women, to the wilderness of the North - and the wildness within.

Four Chambers is a creative pornography project blending cinema and sexuality. Known for pushing boundaries and exploring the intricate relationship between sex and the human condition, Four Chambers creates films that transcend the pornographic genre.
Headed by performer, Vex Ashley and self taught in film making with an emphasis on collaborative DIY practices; Four Chambers now exists alongside a new wave of creators making contemporary pornographic work from a new perspective.
The project remains deliberately ambiguous, rejecting labels for both their films and performers, existing in-between genres of both art and pornography and dismissing the need for a definition of either. Exploring themes of technology, symbolism, mythology and alchemy and their intrinsic intersection with sex and part of the growing decentralisation from traditional adult industry business, Four Chambers is independent, DIY, conceptual, pornography cinema.
